The false promise of work from anywhere freedoms?

Whether we love it or loath it, hybrid work is here.

Am I the only one finding the endless possibilities overwhelming?

Here's my experiences of trying to work out what 'my new normal' - or basically my new life - will look like.

One crucial point I want. to flag is the limitations of working from everywhere for those with reasonable adjustments. I wrote a LinkedIn article about this, with a key point summed up here:

'reasonable adjustments often do not ‘work from anywhere’... They can be location-, technology- and people- bound. They can rely on regularity.

Setting up conditions – including a work pattern and equipment - for a disabled person can take time, trial and full-team understanding. This could include things like a desk by the window, specific hardware or software and lighting changes.'

The full article is available to read on LinkedIn.

Whatever emerges from this next stage of work, it will be interesting to see how we ensure everyone can ‘hybrid’ with equal success.

As for the wider reflections… are you also lost in the paradox of choice?
