Working from home alone: Lockdown 9.0 Edition

Leaves are changing, pumpkins are being picked, there’s one less hour of sun in the evening… Winter is officially coming.

I used to love autumn. The colours, the theatre trips, the fireworks.

Then, you know, 2020 happened.

Winter looks long, doesn’t it?

I’ve been working remotely alone now for months, and it looks set to continue.

Alas, as an extrovert managing anxiety, it aint easy.

But, just like my post from March about working from home, I am still Lynn-COBRA-COVID-planning (hard!).

I am now on Edition 9.0.

Here are some autumnal updates to my working plans:

·         Ordered fold-away table to sit in different room to get morning sun.

·         Got laptop riser and keyboard for better posture.

·         Sitting in car at lunchtime as a remote ‘canteen’.

·         Updating exercise regime to factor colder weather and limited light.

·         Bought new working-from-home outfits.

·         Changing photographs and motivational posters to give house fresh look.

·         Replacing video calls with phone calls so I can walk and talk.

·         Avoiding news and asking someone every couple of days for updates.

As we move from adrenaline to endurance, maybe you, or your team, will find one of these ideas useful.

Oh this storm is badass. But I’m throwing at it all the creativity I got.

I’d love to hear your ideas too! Sharing is caring.
