Creativity Journal March 2022

I create. I explore. I read. I write. I learn.

Here ‘s my latest creative and cultural adventures, along with the ideas these inspire.

Running games at a children’s party

This truly is the best way to get facilitator feedback. The brutal and wonderful honesty from a child means you learn immediately if guidance doesn’t make sense or if the room is bored.

I love getting down to their level, buying into their reality and teaching at their pace.

For me, informal learning drawing on my love of imaginative play, not hours tied to a screen, is my ideal development environment.

World Book Day

Books are my professional and personal best friends ❤️

Yoga Practice

It’s much easier to help others, than to help ourselves, right?

Over the course of delivering wellbeing training recently I’ve helped education practitioners to commit to looking after themselves and their peers. And I learned to do it myself.

Do you ever find yourself teaching others when you actually need that lesson yourself?

Michael Rosen's Book of Play: Why Play Really Matters, and 101 Ways to Get More of it in Your Life

A wonderful book that lightened my annual leave.

Fave quote: (on art) ‘‘This is something I saw and you can feel how I saw it through the way I’ve painted it’.’

Rainbow

A pop of colour and hope in a Glasgow bus stop.
