How to hybrid: Links and resources.

Calling all workplaces with a hybrid headache…

There are loads of resources out there to help us navigate the working world.

Almost too many.

I’ve been keeping abreast of research and info sources, so I thought I would share a few that I have found myself bookmarking:

Asynchronous Tools

An article from the Friday app website is a great starting point to understand types of asynchronous communications and specific tech tools (don’t worry if you don’t know what asynchronous communication is - it explains that too!).

Distributed also has a super list of general and role-specific tools that is worth a scroll. https://distributed.blog/tools/

Virtual Meetings

With virtual meetings now being a mainstream part of the working day, it’s time to reflect on how we run these get-togethers. ‘Virtual Meetings in 2022: Tips, Ideas and Tools’ covers every aspect.

Chat Etiquette

Still treating instant messenger like email? 2022 is time to change. ‘The ultimate Slack etiquette guide - 18 rules to live by’ is great guidance on team chat ground rules.

Meetings

Do we really need this meeting? As we audit our time to increase productivity and reduce screen/commute time, refer to Daisly’s article on ‘meeting modes’ and ‘The Art of Asynchronous Work’ to see what style suits you.

Newsletters

Essential subscribes for keeping up-to-date in future are the newsletters ‘Charter’ and ‘Make Work Better’.

Top editions of these in the past are:
