What does diversity and inclusion have to do with effective leadership?
I’m a bit cheeky.
So when I saw that the Institute of Directors were looking for guests on their podcast, I said ‘Hey! I know a thing or two about the future of leadership!’.
And they listened.
Now you can listen to the full recording on the Leaders in Business podcast.
Listen in for my answers to questions like, ‘Do you ever feel like you are pushing a big rock up a hill?’, and ‘Where do leaders even get started with inclusion?’ (Marlene, who runs the podcast, didn’t pick easy questions!).
Mostly I really enjoyed just getting the chance to make a new connection, and hopefully grown-up friend, in Marlene. She runs, Tichbourne Promotions, which helps business leaders make connections with their ideal counterparts - how useful, right?
I’m going to do something very unlike a woman in the West coast of Scotland and blow my own trumpet. I was so so heartened by the kind things she said about me in her bio, I’m going to quote it here:
‘Lynn Pilkington is a strong advocate for not only the future of leaders but also the importance of diversity and inclusion. An inclusion and engagement consultant, Lynn speaks from experience when advising her client on what steps to take now, to succeed for the future.
She’s a passionate individual with a different voice within the business community. Her attitudes are addictive and hearing her journey is truly an inspirational story in taking the road less travelled to success.’
Here’s to inspiring the future of leaderships, especially with a little bit of cheekiness.
